The girl who had accused former lawmaker Shafik Miya, of UCPN-Maoist, of sexual exploitation has allegedly been kidnapped from her house in Lekhanath of Kaski district on Friday night.
The alleged victim’s family claimed that the Young Communist League (YCL) cadres barged into their house and took her away last night. They filed a case against the Maoist party’s youth wing at the District Police Office, Kaski, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) on Saturday.

The 15-year-old girl, whose identity has been concealed, was working as a domestic help at Miya’s rented house in Naya Bazaar of Kaski for past one year. She had recently told the police that Miya sexually abused her for the period she stayed at his house.

Police said that they are trying to find out the whereabouts of the girl. They assured her family members that they would book the culprits behind her disappearance.

According to the District Police Office, the matter regarding her disappearance and whether she was kidnapped would be clear only after she is discovered. – Thehimalayantimes
