KATHMANDU , AUG 04 – Vehicular movement along the Banwasa Bridge over the Mahakali River has been closed after the rise in the water level of the river due to incessant rainfall for the past three days.

The water flow in the river was measured at 219,000 cusec per second on Saturday morning. This is the highest flow of water measured in the river this year.

Sub-inspector at local police station at Gaddachachauki informed that the transportation along the bridge was halted after the rise in water level. “The water level was at 89,000 when measured on Friday evening. Continuous rainfall increased the water level,” he said.
