It has been revealed quite late that former crown prince Paras Shah had spent a night in Phuket Jail of Thailand a month ago.
It has been said that Thai police had jailed him on October 23, on the charge of possessing illegal drug.
He was nabbed from the tourist town of Phuket with 3.4 grams of marijuana, media reports say quoting Thailand correspondents.
Though he was released in a bail after depositing 10,000 Thai baht , Thai Court has summoned him once every two weeks since then.
Police has seized his passport too.
Legal speculations say if convicted, the ex-crown prince may have to languish inside jail for a year.
On October 27, Thai police had informed Nepalese embassy in Bangkok about his arrest, but Thai Embassy in Nepal and Nepal Embassy to Thailand have remained mum over this matter.
Albeit ex-King Gyanendra Shah was also informed about his son’s arrest, the former had left for Butwal on November 5 to inaugurate the newly constructed building of Gorkhanath Temple.
It has been also revealed that Pasar has purchased an apartment in Phuket and is living with his Thai girl friend in Bangkok.
Phuket is an island off the south-west coast of Thailand in Asia.
Earlier in 2010, Paras Shah was booked by the Chitwan police for an attempt to murder.
He had opened fire at the Tiger Tops Resort in the Chitwan National Park after an altercation with the then Deputy Prime Minister Sujata’s son-in-law. – GAURAV BHATTARAI,THT
